Having spent all morning loosing fish (and floats) a nice Common comes to the net for Tom.
A pretty Mirror Carp from the Jungle at Old Buryhill.
Fred Taylor, former Barbel record holder has turned his attention to Cod fishing and he appears to be good at this as well !. This one fell to a small lead head and Fishtek firetail grub hopping across a channel wreck.
During a wrecking trip, Tom decided to catch a few dead bait for Pike fishing whilst the rest of us were catching proper fish !
Yours truly withan 8lb 6oz Plaice taken out of Eastbourne a few years ago. Still to be bettered. This taken one one of our own design Plaice spoons, one of literally hundreds of Plaice taken on our spoons.
Brian Farral with a 16lb Barbel from the Royalty taken on a Storm 1.5lb test curve Barbel rod using a 2oz River Sinker made from a Do-it mould in the capture of the fish. The River sinker sticks to the river bed in a fast current.
Nice Plaice taken on board Aladard out of Eastbourne in September this year. This one taken on one of our Double Bladed Plaice spoons, Plaice love them !.
A days Grayling fishing on the Itchen produced lots of Grayling and Trout plus this supprise 7lb Salmon.
This 11/2lb Grayling was one of many caught on our day on the Itchen.
A wrecking trip to field test the Fishtek Paddletail lures was better than expected. These two took at the same time, one a Paddletail the other a 7" Curl Tail, both were attached to a 20lb class rod and didn't we have some fun. Paddletails continued to out fish everything else offered and accounted for fourty Cod that day. Try them, you will not be disappointed.
Not one to miss out on the recient action, Tom maged a total of twenty four Cod on Paddletails and Curltails. He also wore that stupid hat again.
Fantastic Cod on a rough day at sea. 28lb fish of a life time.
Tom with a 2009 Cod claimed at 17lb !!!!!!!!!!!!. I've caught Roach nearly as big but there you go !. Another fine fish falls to our Paddletails.
22lb Cod, not bad for the first trip of the year. Mick claims to have caught this fish but I'm not so sure, think the Cod might have caught him. This one was taken hopping a paddletail.
My first 20lb Cod of 2009. Paddletails again catching the bigger fish and the most come to that. We fish them on 21g 7/0 wide gape jigs for the best results.
18lb Cod, one of many taken on Pink and Black Paddletails fished very close to the bottom.
Alans two 20lb Cod taken mid Feb 2009. Didn't he do well.
2lb line, size 18h hook = 8lb Sturgeon. Not the best tackle to catch with but good fun !
Only fish of the day taken at just as the skipper called time. Some people have all the luck.
Taken on live Joey.
This Monster took a Mega Cod spoon baited with Mackerel intended for Turbot off the Channel Islands.
Travel all that way to catch a new French record, the SMALLEST Carp in France, 2010 at 18lb. Pretty fish though.
Nice brace to start the year for Dennis. Nearly killed him but personal best brace so it was worth it.
Alex broke his PB four or five times on this trip, fish just kept getting bigger and bigger.
First trip with us, caught fish from the start with best pair over 15lb.
Alderwood Fishery in Steyning, West Sussex. Stunning Perch on our first visit with fish to 3lb.
Another good fish from this great little fishery. The fish here even take bait from the elderly !
Nice suprise on a straight lead, my first Leather Carp in 40 years of fishing !
A nice brace of plaice, part of our biggest bag of the 2011 season. Lots of small fish with a few good one, these two being the best.
An early season bag of Darwell Roach weighing up to 11/2lb.
And he does it again. We were testing the Storm Barbel rods in the Jungle at Old Bury Hill fishery in Surrey. These are fantastic rods, light, responsive and amazing stopping power, essential when fishing the 'Jungle'.
